I woke up super early yesterday morning for our flight out from Burbank to Baltimore for Trung's annual family reunion, only to find out that the flight was delayed 2.5 hours. Fortunately, the layover in San Francisco was over three hours and we got to get ready at a more comfortable pace. The flight was fine and the kids kept busy on their electronic devices, complaining every now and then about being cold or hungry. We arrived in Baltimore around 10:30, but didn't make it out to Trung's brother An until almost 11:30. After a small meal at An's house, we hit the sack in his basement since the rest of the family was already fast asleep.
We slept in this morning and had a quick breakfast of muffins. Soon after lunch, Tai and Sing, Trung's two other brothers, and their families arrived. The cousins loved seeing each other and it didn't take them long to get reacquainted. Trung's older sister Mai arrived last with her family just before dinnertime, and thus, all the Ly's had arrived. (We would find out later that Trung's oldest brother Toan's wife got a high fever and they wouldn't make the drive up from Florida.)
The makings of a banh mi for lunch
The four youngest Ly brothers reunite up above while the seven cousins cause a ruckus in the basement.
Having deep conversations over dinner
The kids get "twisted" in the living room.
