Austin Nature & Science Center Revisited

The girls and I enjoyed Austin Nature & Science Center so much that we had to show Daddy. So after lunch with Jennifer and Calvin at Threadgill's and an afternoon nap, we headed to the center to enjoy the lovely day. First we checked out the animals that we didn't see the first time around, then back into the dino pit and creek. Trung liked the center too so it seems that we may be returning again quite soon.

Tech Savvy

The kids' new favorite place to go is the Apple Store where they love to play in the kids center or with the iPad. Forget playscapes when you can play with technology.

Irregularity

The days have been muggy then nice, and then muggy again for the past week, so when the sun come, we try to take advantage of it. The girls and I went to Phase II of the Domain and I busted out the jogging stroller and walked the girls to Phase I. The walk was not too bad and was paved for the most part. The girls played with the armadillo and the bench creatures, and enjoyed a Starbucks smoothie, while I, of course, had a creme brulee steamer. What a lovely day!

Food Funnies

Lydia enjoys playing with her food and talking rather than eating her meals, but she LOVES her snacks. She still likes taking her time though, so we are always having to rush out the door on MDO mornings.

Texas Bluebonnets

Bluebonnets are only in season for another couple of weeks, so we finally got some pictures taken even though the weather was a bit dreary. A friend informed me of a nice wildflower patch near Chinatown, so after dinner, we went to check it out.

I always have to have a picture of just me and the girls for my Facebook profile picture.

My friend Persephone and her son Kyan came too!

Austin Nature and Science Center

My friend Persphone and invited us to join her and her son Kyan at the Austin Nature and Science Center. The girls had fun digging in the dino pit, but especially frolicking in the creek. What a great little place hidden in the woods!

While Daddy's away, the mice will play

Trung left to company headquarters Monday morning, so I had the girls all to myself. Monday evening, the Cheng family brought dinner over and watched "Dancing with the Stars" with us. Tuesday evening, the Eldredge brought over cake and we celebrated Sophie's birthday again. Then this evening, Trung was home again, so his business trip blew right by. :)

Easter 2010

Sophie was very unhappy about leaving me for Sunday School at Tallowood this morning, while Lydia had a wonderful time. Then we had lunch at the Tallowood Center with the Chinese congregation, followed by the annual Easter egg hunt. After a quick stop at my parents' house, we drove back to Austin and went straight to Barton Creek Mall so that I could do some shopping and Trung could check out the iPad, but we soon realized that the malls were closed on Easter. Oh well, so we went home and had some dinner instead.

Pre-Easter and Post-Birthday Events

Jimmy's community had a Easter egg hunt and some festivities, so we took the kids to check it out. The kids, especially Sophie, were terrified of the Easter bunny, so they didn't get any pictures with it, but they did quite well on the egg hunt. An inflatable and a mini petting zoo were also there, though Lydia only liked the bunnies and Sophie wouldn't go in.
