Sophie went in and out of fevers all weekend starting Friday around 4:30 PM. She has had fevers before, so I just gave her a small dose of Infant's Tylenol and figured that she would be fine the next morning. Saturday Sophie woke up cheery, so we went to the Dragon Boat Festival. By the evening, however, her fever was back and her appetite was gone. Sunday morning Sophie's fever was at 102.6, but after a nice long nap, it was down to 99.9. We thought that she would be okay now...we were wrong.
Monday morning her fever spiked to 104.1, so I immediately called the on-call nurse. By the time all my information was taken, the fever had gone down to 103.1, but we still made an appointment to see the pediatrician. After a thirty minute wait, the doctor finally saw us and said Sophie had no symptoms of an ear infection. An in-house test came back negative for the flu, but did reflect a low white blood cell count; Sophie had a viral infection so we just needed to wait it out. After a conversation with my aunt who is a doctor, I have come to the conclusion that Sophie has Roseola because tiny spots started appearing all over her body and face three days after the fever first started. I don't know how she got it, but I'm so glad that it is finally going away. Now all that's left is the complaining. *sigh*

aww..poor baby. Kaitlin had Roseola a couple of weeks ago as well and the whole thing lasted a week and she was SO cranky (one of the symptoms). I'm glad she is better now.
