Getting Ready
We're celebrating Lydia's first birthday on Sunday even though her actual birthday isn't until Wednesday. Today we started the preparations...I purchased decorations and birthday favors at Party Pig. I wanted to purchase a lavender birthday hat for Lydia, but I couldn't see myself spending ten dollars for it. Hmmm, I may change my mind or get my brother Mike to buy it. :P Tomorrow we're heading to Costco for all the grub and to Ann's Kitchen for the birthday cake. We have to get ready to feed over thirty people, not to mention clean the house and entertain my brothers and family, who will be staying with us this weekend. Let the games begin!

Working without going to work
Huh? Basically, with all the eBaying and Craigslisting that I've been doing lately, I'm beginning to feel that I'm actually working. Yesterday, I was like, I don't want to work today, so I didn't...hee hee. No, it's been great to actually sell things for other people, but now that I've got three people who I'm actively selling for, it's crazy! It's all good, I'll be up to par in a couple of days. Bring it on!
Oh, so our grass in the backyard is dying in large patches and doesn't look so good. We think it might be because there wasn't enough soil added to those areas, which William said would be enough. He's coming out Thursday to check it out, hopefully, he'll find a remedy because we didn't pay for dead grass. :P

Rough housing
Trung loves "manhandling" Lydia and she loves it too! Here's a clip of the rough housing to a lesser degree...
Also, Lydia used to love kisses, but now, not so much. No more sugar for Lydia...
You got your double dose of Lydia today! :)

One year of unemployment
Wow, it's almost been over a year since my last days of working. Sometimes I miss the social factor, but overall, I've been happy staying home with Lydia and "working" on my eBay and Craigslist stuff. Yes, I'm still keeping it up...but when we have another child, I'm pretty sure eBay and Craigslist will be going on the back burner for a LONG time.
As for our backyard, we're in queue for some wrought iron railing on the concrete steps and then we are officially finished! I'll have pictures up when that project is completed. Oh, one really bad thing about the landscaping, the ants were greatly disturbed by their homes being destroyed, so I believe they are on a mission to invade ours. We've had ants everywhere! My clothes, the bathroom, the pantry...ugh! Trung put ant poison on the perimeter of the house, so they have seemed to die down, but who knows. Poor Lydia got bitten on the face, though I think they might have been mosquito bites. What do you think?

She's everywhere
Lydia is totally getting the hang of walking. It's been fun watching her wobbling around. Every day, Trung and I get Lydia to walk back and forth between us, scooting back a little bit everytime she walks towards us. Here's our little walker!

Walking walking walking
Here's rare footage of Trung AND me helping Lydia practice walking. Special thanks to our current roommate Henry for shooting this clip. Also, happy one month birthday to his son, Ethan!
I know I haven't blogged much about "So You Think You Can Dance", but I am still watching that...yes, indeed! I personally think Sabra will win, though Danny has a chance. Flower power!

Househunting
We helped our friend Henry go househunting this weekend. He really liked a house in Cedar Park that he saw on Friday, which he took us to go see today. It's quite big and very nice, though I personally didn't quite like the very tall wall at the entryway as soon as you walked in. Lydia enjoyed crawling on the floors on the new house since nothing got in her way; the stairs were also fun for her.
Wow, it's gotten quite hot again; I almost miss the rain...almost. Oh, so just a couple weeks ago I was telling Trung how I was getting bored during my Lydia downtime and all of sudden, I've got people asking me to help sell things. Like that lady in South Austin that I've mentioned before, and now my friend wants me to help sell her mom's Chinese decor, and another friend has Mary Kay inventory to get rid of. Seems like I'll be pretty busy these next few months, if not a year. YEAH!! Something to do AND earning money...I LIKE IT!!

Nocturnal
Lydia woke up at 1 AM last night and could not go to sleep for an hour, no matter how many times I got up to console her. I don't know what's up, maybe she had a really really bad dream or was just missing Trung. I took a nice little nap later to help recup, that little thing sure does wear me out!
Trung's college classmate, Henry, has moved to Austin to start his new job at IBT on Monday. He and his father will be living with us until Henry finds a house. His father will be leaving on the 20th, and Henry's wife and son will be flying down once he moves out of our house and settles into his new one.

Backyardigans
Well, it seems that the backyard project is coming along nicely, though everything that has been completed thus far have been underground. I can't believe Trung and I finally decided to have the backyard done after almost four years of living in this house, but all I can say is, it was a long time coming.
Latest items of interest (to me)...
1) Yao Ming got married! His wife is 6' 2" and boy, are they going to have tall kids!
2) Mark picked Amanda on the TV show "Age of Love". I know, I know, roll your eyes. :P At least I'm not watching "The Bachelor" anymore. Oh, speaking of which, Trista Rehn had her first baby a couple weeks ago.
3) Lydia's third tooth is surfacing; she should have it in by her first birthday!
Here's more on Lydia...

11th Month Old Birthday
So, I've been backdating my posts so that it doesn't seem that I've fallen THAT far behind. :P I've been selling on eBay and Craigslist a lot lately for this lady who has a garage full of stuff. She still does sell some things, but has found that she has accumulated much more than she has time for. So, now she's got a few people working on it for her...50/50 split isn't too bad, that is, if the items sell. Otherwise, you're stuck with all of eBay's little fees; 50 cents here and there isn't too bad until it starts adding up. Right now I'm waiting for some pictures to upload.
Anyhow, Lydia is getting smarter everyday. I know it's not proper to teach a baby how to stick out their tongue, but I don't think it's THAT bad when it's a learning experience. :P
