TerraBurger
We didn't feel like driving to far for some water fun, so we decided to take the kids to TerraBurger, where they have a playscape and a small splashpad. We enjoyed a simple, slightly overpriced, lunch and watched as the kids cooled off a little.
Sophie avoids the water...she seemed to enjoy herself just fine as she let her balloon go and sat on Daddy

Baobob Blast
Lydia had her third Vacation Bible School with an African theme this past week and she seemed to enjoy it more than last year when she kept asking why she had to go to school again and again. It was nice getting a few extra hours of free time this week even with little Sophie still tagging along. At the end of the week performance, Lydia actually sang instead of swaying or biting her finger, so that was exciting. Lydia is growing up!

Garage Sale
We found out last minute that our next door neighbors who are moving at the end of the month were having a garage sale, so we decided to have one and take advantage of their newspaper advertisement. Wow, I didn't realize how much we had accumulated over the past 6.5 years, so we had a pretty decent amount of stuff to sell. Trung enjoyed watching the amount of "junk" slowly decreasing and wants to have another sale soon.

Makeshift pool
Adam & Amy and our family were all set for an evening at the community pool when we realized that it was not open on Mondays, so we busted out our inflatable baby pool and at least the kids got to enjoy the cool water on yet another scorching summer day.

Water and Waterloo
Sarah is recovering from her C-section and Trung is in California hanging out with my brother after his interview yesterday, so Adam and I took the kids to Brushy Creek park to play at the splash pad. Today was the perfect day to go too because it wasn't too hot or sunny. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Waterloo Ice House where the kids could play at the playground once they finished their meals. We miss Daddy, but we're keeping busy.

Splash Friday
Adam busted out the water table and sprinklers, so we came over to join the fun. What a nice way to cool off on a sticky day.

Baby Justin comes home
I have been anxiously waiting for Sarah and Adam to bring Justin home from the hospital so that I would meet and hold him (they were avoiding hospital visits) and they finally did yesterday afternoon. What a precious baby boy! Almost makes me what to have one for my own. :)

Happy hours
The girls used to take their naps at 12:30, but now I let them watch Barney at that time. They get so excited when the "I love you" song comes on at the end. I don't know what it is about that purple dinosaur, but the girls sure do adore him.
Lots of loving...notice Sophie's delayed kiss
In the evening, Trung attended a Happy Hour pre-party for his conference on Saturday, so the girls and I went to the Domain to kill some time. My friends Ravel and Andy happened to be there as well, so we had Happy Hour at Mccormick and Schmick's. I know that one normally does not take children to a Happy Hour, so hence, all the stares, but the kids were pretty good and my friends did not mind. Afterwards, we walked around, I got my Creme Brulee steamer, and we hit a store closing sale. Once I got home, I bathed the kids and put them to sleep. Time sure does fly when you're keeping yourself busy.
Lydia preferred teacher Andy over Ravel as you can tell from "the lean".

Final day
We went to see Sarah, Adam, and Amy as their last day as a family of three. Baby boy Eldredge will be here tomorrow afternoon!
